Job Description

This role will manage Vertex’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The Vertex GSOC is a 24-hour incident response and communication center housed in Vertex’s corporate headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Manager will manage a team of shift-based analysts who are responsible for worldwide incident response, global facilities monitoring, travel monitoring, social media monitoring, operations and supply chain support. The candidate must possess expertise in managing people, processes and technology. Excellent communications, organization skills, and creativity in problem solving are required for success in this position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create situational awareness reports, present security briefings.
  • Intelligence gathering, analytics, and dissemination.
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, communicate and mitigate risks.
  • Global incident management and notification including the use of emergency mass notification systems.
  • Travel monitoring with real time intelligence and risk assessment including utilizing vendor resources to coordinate assistance.
  • Social media monitoring and brand protection.
  • Supply chain security support, including product tracking.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing GSOC programs.
  • Provide necessary training to GSOC analysts.
  • Develop and conduct drills to maintain superior GSOC performance.
  • Crisis Management support and direct knowledge of Business Continuity principals
  • Develop and standardize workflows, KPI’s, metrics and documentation and training.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful outcomes.
  • Develop effective partnerships and work collaboratively with business partners (PMO, Facilities, Security, HR, Finance, EHS&S, Legal, IT, Corporate Communications, etc.).
  • Cultivate change and innovation by seeking opportunities to strengthen and improve existing services and operations.
  • Provide and promote high standards of professionalism, integrity and leadership, both within and outside the organization, appropriately representing Vertex core values, business philosophies, protocols and standards. TECHNICAL AND COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS:
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • The candidate must be able to build and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and be a trusted team leader.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace on multiple projects of a critical nature.
  • Have extensive experience and knowledge of various access control platforms, video management systems and incident management applications/software.
  • Proven track record of surpassing objectives and delivering exceptional results.
  • Proven ability to guide and influence members of team.
  • Ability to make decisions, while under stress, that provides for the safety and security of Vertex employees, visitors, and assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage effectively change and conflict. Be adept at managing crises; provide front-line leadership in coordinating responses to crisis situations.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing complex people, process, and technical projects. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 years managing a corporate Global Security Operations Center #LI-JF1
